Saipa's stock of incomplete cars falls from 12,770 to about 4,000, a 69 percent drop

1 August 2026 · 2 months ago

Seyed Majidreza Talebi, deputy chief executive for production, support and technical services at the Saipa automotive group, said on Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405) that the company's stock of incomplete vehicles has fallen from 12,770 units on 31 May (10 Khordad) to about 4,000, a decline of 69 percent.

He said the programme to gather, complete and commercialise incomplete cars began on 31 May as a 50 day plan, after the head of the General Inspection Organisation visited Saipa on 30 May. Talebi said the remaining vehicles will be completed and delivered to customers by the end of the current Iranian month, which ends on 22 August, and that a car park previously used to store incomplete vehicles now holds cars ready for delivery.

He added that for more than 40 days no incomplete vehicle has come off Saipa's production lines, with models including the Atlas, Shahin and Quick leaving the line fully built and commercialised. Stockpiles of part built cars in carmakers' yards have been one of the bottlenecks of Iran's auto industry in recent years and feed directly into delivery times for buyers.
