Senior IRGC commander warns of a full-scale offensive if US strikes continue for two or three more days

18 July 2026 | 3 months ago

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned on Friday, July 17, that if US military strikes on Iran continue for another two or three days, Tehran will move into a phase of "full-scale offensive operations." The remarks came as the United States carried out a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iranian territory.

According to a statement by US Central Command (CENTCOM), the strikes began around 19:00 GMT and used fighter aircraft, drones and warships to hit Iran's "surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage and maritime capabilities." Reported target locations included Jask, Sirik, Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Ahvaz and Yazd.

The recent military escalation between Iran and the United States has pressured Iran's domestic currency and gold markets and pushed global oil prices higher.
