SpaceX second quarter revenue reaches $7.8 billion as capital spending passes $18 billion

5 August 2026 | 3 months ago

SpaceX said in its first financial report since going public that revenue in the quarter ended 30 June 2026 reached $7.8 billion, compared with $4.1 billion in the same period a year earlier. According to LSEG data, that was above Wall Street forecasts. The company's valuation stands at $1.75 trillion.

Most of the growth came from Starlink. Revenue at the satellite internet service, which accounts for more than half of the company's total, rose 66 percent, and its subscriber count reached 12 million at the end of the quarter, although average revenue per user fell 22 percent. Revenue at the artificial intelligence unit rose about 250 percent, and the company said it earns money from compute contracts with firms including Anthropic, Google and Reflection AI. The group's operating loss narrowed to $143 million from $970 million, and Starlink's operating profit rose 79 percent.

The market's concern turned to costs. Capital expenditure in the second quarter exceeded $18 billion, against $2.83 billion a year earlier, and investment in artificial intelligence rose to $15.83 billion from $749 million. According to Eco Iran, the company's shares fell more than 10 percent in pre market trading on Wednesday, 14 Mordad 1405 (5 August 2026).
