Iran's Statistical Center said, in a report carried by Ecoiran on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (27 Mordad 1405), that the industrial producer price index reached 605.3 points in the spring of 1405 (ended June 21, 2026), up 36.2 percent from the prior quarter and 70.9 percent from the same quarter a year earlier. The index's point to point annual inflation rate climbed to 109 percent, up from 66.3 percent the previous quarter.
Per the report, tobacco product manufacturing posted the sharpest quarterly rise at 107.4 percent, while coke and refined petroleum products posted the smallest at 13.1 percent. On the annual measure, paper manufacturing led with 96.8 percent growth and apparel trailed with 45.9 percent. Analysts say accelerating producer inflation can, with a lag, squeeze manufacturers' margins or push up consumer prices.
