Tehran Stock Exchange Posts Its Largest Daily Gain in Weeks as Index Nears 5.9 Million Points

Tehran Stock Exchange's main index closed today, Monday, 26 Mordad 1405 (August 17, 2026), up 131,571 points, or 2.28 percent, at 5,897,949 points, according to Donya-e-Eqtesad, nearing the 5.9 million point mark. During the rally, 762 symbols posted gains, and the equal-weighted index rose by a similar margin to 1,664,580 points.

The jump came on the same day the 60-day window under the Iran-US memorandum expired without a formal extension, with pharmaceutical, food and some automaker stocks among the day's leading gainers.
