Tehran Stock Exchange's Main Index Clears the 5.9 Million Mark in Tuesday Trading

18 August 2026 | 2 months ago

Per Sahmino's own recorded Tehran Stock Exchange data, the main index (TEDPIX) rose 70,240.35 points, or 1.19 percent, to 5,968,211.93 points as of 11:39 local time on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (27 Mordad 1405), with the equal weight index up 12,069.97 points, or 0.73 percent. Earlier in the session, per Donya-e-Eqtesad, the index had touched the 5.9 million mark for a second consecutive day, after retreating from the same level the previous day, Monday, 17 August (26 Mordad), as selling pressure increased.

Donya-e-Eqtesad reported earlier Tuesday that traders remained cautious, with net individual buying of only about 30 billion tomans and 66 percent of reviewed symbols trading in negative territory, while roughly 3 trillion tomans exiting fixed income funds could signal a shift of liquidity toward the stock market.
