Tehran Stocks End the Week Higher as Momentum Fades Among Large Shares

In a review published Friday, October 16, 2026, Donya-e-Eqtesad said both the Tehran Stock Exchange main and equal-weight indices rose in the week ending Wednesday, October 14, although selling in large stocks slowed the main index in the final sessions. The paper cited changes to refinery feedstock and oil-product pricing, increased regional risk and anticipation of half-year company accounts as influences on trading.

Sahmino's recorded exchange data also show that the Tehran main index ended Wednesday below Tuesday's level, while the equal-weight index gained on the day. That divergence distinguished the end of the week from its earlier advance; the paper said further gains would depend on company results when the financial statements are released.
