Baghdad's Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya currency exchanges remained closed on the afternoon of Tuesday, 4 August 2026 (13 Mordad 1405), because of the Arbaeen holiday, while the US dollar edged lower in Erbil.
According to a Shafaq News market survey, some exchange shops still operating in Baghdad kept their rates unchanged, selling 100 dollars at 152,250 dinars and buying at 151,250 dinars.
In Erbil, 100 dollars sold at 152,300 dinars and was bought at 152,250 dinars, below the selling rate of 152,900 dinars reported in Erbil earlier the same day. Iraq's currency market is one of the channels shaping dollar flows in the region, and the Central Bank of Iraq's currency auction is among the variables Iranian market participants watch.
