Thirteen wounded, Jeddah flights halted after wide Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia
15 September 2026 · 24 days ago
In the early hours of Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Saudi media and Iran's IRNA and Fars news agencies reported that air raid sirens sounded repeatedly in Abha, Khamis Mushait and Taif in southern Saudi Arabia as several missiles and drones struck the areas. Saudi sources said 13 people were wounded and a major fire broke out at the Abha oil depot; Al Jazeera likewise reported the strikes wounded at least 13 civilians. Fars News reported oil facilities in Jazan took a direct hit from Yemeni air strikes, and local sources said flights were suspended at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Yemeni armed forces spokesperson Yahya Saree described the operation as a response to more than 300 Saudi air raids over the previous five days and said military operations deep inside Saudi Arabia would continue until the attacks stopped.
