Bourse News reported on Wednesday 5 August 2026 that Iran's Privatization Board has approved the transfer price for 95 percent of the shares of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro Industry Company. The board met on 20 June 2026 at the Privatization Organization, where it also reviewed a list of 43 companies whose shares are due to be offered on the exchange.
According to the report, the transfer was approved at 560,076 rials a share, for a total value of 10,300 billion tomans, payable in cash. The transfer is being carried out under a 16 July 2022 resolution of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination of the heads of the three branches, to increase the capital of Bank Melli and to settle government debt to Bank Saderat in equal proportions.
The Privatization Organization was required to conclude the transfer contracts with the two banks. Because of a disagreement over the basis of the valuation, it was decided that if the pricing was not based on the audited financial statements ending in June 2022, the matter would be referred to official court experts and the revised rate brought back to the board.
