US Vice President JD Vance said in a Fox News interview aired early on Thursday, 15 Mordad 1405 (6 August 2026), that Iranian negotiators are "tough" and that Iran's leadership contains both figures who want the war to end and hardliners who want it to continue. According to Eco Iran, citing the Fars news agency, Vance said the US administration would use every military, economic and diplomatic tool to reach a resolution with Iran, adding that "Iran will not get a nuclear weapon."
He also said he has no disagreement with President Donald Trump over Iran policy and that the administration is united behind his decisions. Asked about reports of friction with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Vance said their most recent meeting involved "no confrontation" and was a "good, frank" conversation.
