Yemen's Foreign Ministry Issues Threatening Statement Against Saudi Arabia
7 August 2026 | 2 months ago
Yemen's Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by Tasnim news agency on Friday, August 7, 2026 (16 Mordad 1405), that Yemen has a full right to confront any hostile activity that targets its security and stability. The ministry's statement said Saudi Arabia's level of interference in Yemen's affairs is becoming clearer every day, adding that the world would soon hear Saudi Arabia's reaction to strikes on its camps in Yemen. Hizam al Asaad, a member of the political council of Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, said separately that anyone who has tied themselves to the Saudi riyal no longer belongs to the Yemeni nation.
The threat comes as shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al Mandeb Strait has fallen sharply in recent days following Ansar Allah's claim of a ballistic missile strike on the Saudi oil tanker Wafa, keeping shipping insurance and freight costs elevated across the region.
