Transcript

Today, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, we look at Bank Mellat's capital increase story. Bank Mellat has raised its registered capital four times in under three years. Its registered capital now stands at three hundred thirty eight point two trillion tomans. At the end of 2023, this bank's registered capital was just thirty five point three trillion tomans. Each stage brought a large jump: one hundred one percent, seventy percent, ninety six percent, and forty two percent. With each capital increase, the share count multiplied, so earnings per share must be recalculated. Large state banks face regulatory pressure to strengthen their capital adequacy ratios. Most increases came from retained earnings, not fresh shareholder cash. That is why the same six month profit appears as six fifty rials in one report and three thirty five in another. For small investors, ignoring the new share count skews any price to earnings math. The fourth increase was registered in May 2026. December 2023, 2024, October 2025, and May 2026: four stops on one path. Meanwhile, Bank Mellat's six month profit itself grew thirty six percent from a year earlier. In the months ahead, watch for the audited fiscal year 1404 financial statements and the annual meeting. Read the full analysis on Sahmino.
