Transcript

This Sunday morning, July twelfth: world gold barely moved, and yet Iran's own gold fell notably. On Saturday, gold and coin pulled back harder than the dollar. The reason was simple: a firmer rial and a deflating coin premium, not a world gold crash. The free-market dollar eased about two percent, to one hundred seventy-eight thousand tomans. A gram of eighteen-karat gold slid two point six percent, to near seventeen and a half million tomans. The mesghal and the Emami coin also cheapened between two and three percent. The Emami coin premium compressed, from about five million to roughly three million tomans. The Tehran bourse index fell two percent, below five point one eight million points. It was the fourth session under pressure, reacting to last week's tensions. In crypto, Bitcoin traded near sixty-four thousand dollars and Tether around one hundred eighty thousand tomans. Global spot gold held near four thousand one hundred dollars, and Brent near seventy-six. Nearby, the lira eased, the yuan firmed slightly, and the Iraqi dinar cheapened. In steel, size-ten Aryan rebar was priced around sixty-seven thousand tomans a kilo. In autos, the Competition Council called the fifteen percent factory hike insufficient. The building-materials market was quiet, with no fresh price news. The bourse reopens at nine today; watch whether the correction continues or finds a floor. Keep an eye on global gold, oil, and upcoming U.S. inflation data. Market Pulse by Sahmino; do you think the dollar has found its floor?
