Lesson 24

Coin & FX Auctions

An auction allocates a specified supply according to announced bid and eligibility rules. An auction result is not necessarily the retail market price: product, settlement, delivery date and participant access can differ.

An auction allocates a specified supply according to announced bid and eligibility rules. An auction result is not necessarily the retail market price: product, settlement, delivery date and participant access can differ. To understand a coin or FX auction, read the current notice for bid limits, deposits, charges, allocation and delivery. Those conditions cannot be inferred from a past round. Sahmino’s event page links the dated source; its calendar reminder is a personal reminder, not a bid or reservation.

Worked example (hypothetical)

A hypothetical allotment at 100 million rial costs another 1 million in charges. If delivery is later, compare the 101 million total and timing with the same coin available now, rather than comparing only the winning bid.

Check your understanding

What proves current eligibility? The dated official auction notice. A course example or an old calendar entry cannot establish it.
