Aref's One-Week Deadline for the Subsidy Sources-and-Uses Package

Iran's economic team, chaired by First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, met on Monday, 28 September 2026 (6 Mehr 1405) on funding the targeted-subsidy programme for more than 75 million people in the second half of the Iranian year, and ordered a comprehensive sources-and-uses package to be drawn up within one week, around 5 October 2026 (13 Mehr 1405). The package will be implemented, once approved by the government, with the cooperation of parliament and the judiciary.
