On 25 September 2026, the spokesman of the Iranian parliament's social committee said the food voucher (kalabarg) credit increase is scheduled to take effect by 15 Mehr 1405 (7 October 2026). He said 300,000 to 500,000 tomans will be added for roughly 40 to 50 million of about 86 million recipients. On 24 September, the head of the Plan and Budget Organization said 44 million people had been identified for the increase in Mehr.
