UK Publishes Law Toughening Unilateral Sanctions on Iran

The UK government published a new law on Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar 1405 (September 8, 2026), toughening its unilateral sanctions against Iran. The law further restricts Iran's access to the British financial system, extends trade bans to more goods, technology and services, and bans Iranian aircraft from flying in the UK except where exemptions apply. The move comes alongside the continuation of the US economic pressure campaign against Iran.
