18-karat gold near 18.4 million tomans Thursday, Emami coin at 185 million

On Thursday, 16 July 2026 (25 Tir 1405), a gram of 18-karat gold was priced at about 18,433,000 tomans based on rates published by Tehran's gold and jewellery union. The Emami coin traded near 185 million tomans and melted gold (abshode) around 79,850,000 tomans. Domestic gold and coin prices remain driven jointly by the exchange rate and regional tensions.

Globally, spot gold slipped about 0.7 percent on Thursday to 4,028 dollars an ounce. The ounce eased even as a surge in oil prices tied to the Strait of Hormuz crisis revived worries about inflation and the prospect of tighter monetary policy. The Tehran Stock Exchange was closed on Thursday.
