Cybersecurity research firm Ack3 said in a report that 135 security attacks and exploits were confirmed in the crypto market between January and June 2026, causing losses of 939.86 million dollars. The average loss per incident was about 6.96 million dollars.
Most of the damage traces to two events. The Kelp DAO protocol and the rsETH token lost 292 million dollars in April 2026 after attackers compromised a single cross-chain message verification system and forged a message, while the Drift perpetual trading platform on the Solana network lost 285 million dollars. Together the two events account for 577 million dollars, or about 61 percent of all assets stolen in the first half of 2026.
According to the report, 94.4 percent of the assets stolen from audited projects were taken through paths that fell outside the scope of the security auditors' review. The same report put bitcoin at 62,839 dollars on Monday 12 Mordad 1405 (3 August 2026), down 0.96 percent over 24 hours, and ether at 1,857 dollars, down 1.05 percent.
