Al Jazeera: US to Deploy Three Aircraft Carriers Around Iran by End of November; Pezeshkian Reaffirms Readiness for Talks

Al Jazeera reported on Thursday, October 1, 2026, citing a US official, that by the end of November three US aircraft carriers along with two amphibious landing groups will be deployed around Iran. The same report said more than 2,000 US Marines, together with an amphibious ground force, are also headed to the West Asia region. In the same coverage, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran has "never avoided" dialogue with Washington, even though Iran has been attacked three times during previous rounds of talks. The development comes amid the months-long US-Iran war that has kept tension elevated in the Strait of Hormuz and pressured global energy and gold markets since late summer.
