Amazon jumps more than 9% after hours as second-quarter revenue beats expectations

Amazon shares rose more than 9% in after-hours trading on Thursday, 30 July 2026 (8 Mordad 1405). The company reported second-quarter 2026 revenue above analysts' forecasts, and according to CNBC the strength of its cloud-computing business was the main support behind the result.
Amazon closed the regular session that day at $235.50, a level that puts the company's market value at about $2.5 trillion.
Alongside Microsoft's report, Amazon's results reinforced expectations that large technology companies will keep spending on artificial intelligence. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 0.5% and Dow Jones futures rose 0.2% in Thursday's overnight trading.
