The head of the investment fund supervision centre at Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization said on Monday, July 27, 2026 that total assets under management of investment funds had reached 34 million billion rials, equivalent to about 3,400 trillion tomans.
Ali Akbar Iranshahi said the number of operating licences issued for investment funds has passed 600, with 606 issued so far. He noted that the figure covers licences granted across different fund categories and does not necessarily equal the number of separate funds, since a single fund may hold several licences for activity in different areas.
According to the centre's data as of that date, fixed income funds account for 92 exchange traded fund licences and 74 licences for issuance and redemption based funds, while equity funds account for 152 exchange traded licences and 52 issuance and redemption licences.
