At Riyadh's King Khalid Airport, Smoke Rises From a Fuel Depot as Flights Are Halted

According to Reuters, in a report carried Saturday, September 19, 2026 (28 Shahrivar 1405), eyewitnesses heard several explosions near Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and a column of black smoke rose from the airport's northern side. Reuters published a photo of smoke rising from a fuel depot on the airport grounds and said the depot had been targeted by Yemen's armed forces (Ansar Allah, the Houthis). Khabar Online, citing Mehr News and Al-Quds Al-Arabi, reported that flight operations at the airport were suspended following the incident. Separate Arab sources cited by EcoIran and Donya-e-Eqtesad said a cargo building at Riyadh airport was destroyed and facilities belonging to Saudi oil company Aramco in the same area were damaged. As of publication, Saudi authorities had not issued an official response.
