Yemeni Forces Say They Struck Aramco Refinery and Two Saudi Airports; Explosions Confirmed in Riyadh
6 October 2026 · 4 hours ago
Yemen's armed forces (Ansar Allah) said early Tuesday, 6 October 2026, that they carried out three operations using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones against targets inside Saudi Arabia, according to a statement read by forces spokesman Yahya Saree. The statement said King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, the Aramco refinery in Rabigh, and Abha airport along with several bases in southern Saudi Arabia were struck. Iran's IRNA, citing AFP, reported that several explosions were heard in Riyadh. Al Jazeera reported that a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition described the claim of hitting Riyadh as misleading. Yemeni forces said the operations were in response to 60 Saudi-led air and missile strikes on Sanaa and several Yemeni provinces over the previous 24 hours. The development comes as global oil markets remain sensitive to tensions around the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
