Bank Melli Iran, announcing that technical and operational work to stabilise its banking systems is continuing, has given an update on resolving discrepancies that arose in customer accounts and transactions. The bank said these cases will be corrected by Saturday 8 August 2026 (17 Mordad 1405) and that services will then be delivered to customers on a stable footing.
The bank's statement was published on Monday 3 August 2026 (12 Mordad 1405) and concerns discrepancies that appeared in some customers' accounts and transactions following a disruption to its banking systems.
Bank Melli Iran is the country's largest state owned bank, holding a large number of corporate and personal accounts and handling part of the government's payments, so the stability of its systems bears directly on the flow of everyday payments.
