Bitcoin Enters Accumulation Phase, VanEck Says It Points to a Bottoming, Not a Selloff
18 August 2026 | 2 months ago
Asset manager VanEck said bitcoin is currently in an accumulation phase, a period in which long-term investors typically use price declines to add to their holdings. According to Arzdigital, the firm views current market behavior as more consistent with gradual bottom formation than the start of a fresh broad selloff.
VanEck cited limited bitcoin supply, declining exchange reserves and rising purchases by long-term holders as evidence for this view. The firm cautioned, however, that being in an accumulation phase does not necessarily mean an uptrend is imminent, and continued volatility or even further short-term declines remain possible.
