Bloomberg says Iran and Oman talks are focused on reopening shipping through the Strait of Hormuz

Bloomberg reported on Tuesday 28 July 2026 (6 Mordad 1405), citing informed sources, that Iran and Oman are working towards an agreement to resume shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz is the main export route for Persian Gulf crude, and traffic conditions there are one of the decisive variables for global oil prices and marine freight costs. Brent crude was trading around $87.33 a barrel at 09:13 Tehran time on Tuesday 28 July 2026. The report is based on informed sources and has not so far been confirmed by officials in either country.
