Brazil's Ibovespa jumped 2.97 percent to 177,866 points on Friday, 10 July, its best session in weeks and highest level since 14 May. Softer-than-expected June inflation data revived expectations of another interest-rate cut at the central bank's 4 to 5 August meeting; banks and retailers led the advance. The Brazilian real was little changed at 5.11 per dollar.
