Brazil's Petrobras raises jet fuel prices again from August
1 August 2026 | 3 months ago
Brazil's state oil company Petrobras announced on Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405) that it is raising jet fuel prices from August. This is the second such increase by Petrobras for the product.
Jet fuel is one of the products whose price tracks crude oil costs and refining margins directly. The increase in Brazil, Latin America's largest economy, comes at a time when the global market for oil products is under pressure from supply disruption.
Fuel is the single largest operating cost for airlines, and increases usually pass through to ticket prices with a lag.
