Brent crude reached $87.93 a barrel in the latest trading through Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405), up $1.05 or 1.21% from the previous close. West Texas Intermediate rose by $1.08, or 1.29%, to $84.67 a barrel.
Over the same period natural gas slipped 0.4% to $2.747, heating oil fell 2.09% to $4.122 and gasoline eased 0.55% to $3.114. Murban crude traded 1.26% higher at $85.49.
The oil market has in recent weeks been shaped by disruption across two waterways, the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea. Global crude prices matter directly to Iran's economy, since they feed both oil export revenue and expectations in the domestic currency and gold markets.
