Trading Economics said the main driver was continued uncertainty over US-Iran talks and the prospect that no deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz will be reached before November's US midterm elections, though the resumption of flows through Saudi Arabia's roughly 3.5-million-barrel-a-day East-West pipeline capped further gains. Separately, Mehr News Agency, citing OilPrice.com, reported Iran's own light crude priced between $102.85 and $104.75 a barrel in various markets, and Iran's heavy crude between $100.70 and $102.60; that data is published with a lag and reflects the latest figures available from the site.
