According to Reuters, global oil prices rose on Thursday, September 10, 2026 (19 Shahrivar 1405), with Brent crude up 0.93 percent to $102.15 a barrel by 1011 GMT (13:41 Tehran time). Per Sahmino's own price data, the rally continued through the Tehran trading day, with Brent reaching $104.22 a barrel by 15:59 Tehran time; U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose about 3 percent to near $99 a barrel.
The jump followed the largest attacks on shipping since Iran and the United States' six month conflict began. Iran said on Wednesday it had struck 10 ships near the Strait of Hormuz after the U.S. sank five Iranian oil tankers, and Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said it would escalate its response to any further attacks. Pressure is also mounting on alternative Gulf export routes, with Yemen's Houthi forces taking control of the Red Sea port of Mocha. According to LSEG data, physical Brent has stayed above $100 a barrel since September 3.
