In its 25th open market operations auction, with results published from September 23, 2026, the Central Bank of Iran again stood on the liquidity-injection side of the interbank market. Under repurchase agreements it accepted 700 trillion rials of bids at a seven-day maturity and a minimum rate of 23 percent, while banks' submitted bids reached 4,174.9 trillion rials. In outright purchases it accepted all 20.6 trillion rials of bank bids, bringing the central bank's total purchases to 720.6 trillion rials.

Banks also used the standing lending facility during the week ending September 21, with its value exceeding 455 trillion rials on one day. The facility's rate sits at the ceiling of the interest rate corridor, 24 percent. The wide gap between bids and accepted amounts shows banks' demand for liquidity remains high, a condition that feeds through to money market rates.
