Iran's Central Bank, in circular No. 130283/05 dated Shahrivar 1, 1405, issued by its Payment Systems and New Technologies deputy to the banking network, has required banks to pay guaranteed checks instantly starting Mehr 7, 1405 (September 29, 2026). According to Ecoiran, citing IRNA, published Thursday, Shahrivar 5, guaranteed checks, which function like coded checks with no bounced status, must be paid immediately from that date, and banks will no longer be allowed to condition payment on completing interbank settlement in the beneficiary's account.
The central bank said the deadline was set to give the banking network sufficient time to make the necessary technical changes, and that no further extension will be granted.
