China iron ore and rebar prices fall on Monday as seasonal lull cuts steel demand
20 July 2026 · 3 months ago
Iron ore and steel prices on China's exchanges fell on Monday, 20 July 2026. Iron ore futures slipped 0.33% to 759.5 yuan per tonne and, despite the daily drop, are up about 2.7% over the past month and remain near a one month high. Steel rebar futures fell 1.03% to 3,070 yuan per tonne, retreating from a one month high. Rain in southern China and intense heat in the north have slowed construction and steel consumption, and blast furnace utilization has dropped below 90%. These prices matter for Iran's steel exporters and the steel tickers on the Tehran bourse.
