Court of Audit: 48 Percent of Marriage-Loan and 59 Percent of Childbirth-Loan Applicants Still Queued at End of Shahrivar

10 October 2026 | 11 days ago

Iran's Court of Audit said that by the end of Shahrivar 1405 (September 22, 2026), 411,884 of 804,802 applicants for the interest-free marriage loan had been paid a total of 138,200 billion tomans, leaving about 48 percent of eligible applicants still in the queue. For the interest-free childbirth loan, 281,346 of 687,307 applicants had been paid a total of 26,200 billion tomans, leaving about 59 percent of eligible applicants waiting.

The Court of Audit said it keeps monitoring how far the banking network meets its legal obligations, and that under the annual budget law and the Youth Population Law final responsibility for any shortfall in these loans lies with the lending banks and the Central Bank. The report was carried on 18 Mehr 1405 (October 10, 2026) by Donya-e-Eqtesad and EcoIran (citing Tasnim).
