Dana Gas Denies Breaching Gas Agreement with Kurdistan Regional Government

Dana Gas, whose shares trade on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, and its partner Crescent Petroleum denied on Friday, August 7, 2026 (16 Mordad 1405), a report by the UAE newspaper The National, that they breached an agreement with authorities in Iraq's Kurdistan region by supplying natural gas from the Khor Mor field to Iraq's Electricity Ministry. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) had earlier accused the consortium of acting unilaterally, saying it was notified only at the same time as the public announcement.
Dana Gas said in a statement to the Abu Dhabi exchange that the 100 million standard cubic feet a day supplied to the ministry, on top of the 655 million cubic feet a day currently provided to the KRG, comes from Khor Mor's excess capacity and did not require additional KRG authorization. The company said the KRG was given a copy of the gas sales agreement in January and that its Ministry of Natural Resources was kept updated throughout years of discussions. Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum said they have invested more than $4 billion in the Kurdistan region's energy sector since 2007 and remain committed to their obligations there.
