Despite Hormuz and Red Sea Disruption, Aramco Guarantees Full September Contractual Deliveries to Three European Refiners
20 August 2026 | 2 months ago
Saudi Arabia's Aramco, according to a Bloomberg report carried by The Edge Malaysia and reflected by Oilprice.com on Wednesday, 28 Mordad 1405 (August 19, 2026), said it will deliver full contractual September crude volumes to at least three European refiners, loading from the Egyptian Mediterranean port of Sidi Kerir, Saudi Arabia's Red Sea port of Yanbu, or via a ship to ship transfer off Malta.
Citing people familiar with the matter, Aramco notified its European customers about a week later than usual this time. The move comes as traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains heavily disrupted by the US Iran war, while Houthi attacks have made Red Sea shipping more difficult. Saudi Arabia has simultaneously resumed loading crude from inside the Persian Gulf, with three VLCCs loading at the Ras Tanura and Juaymah terminals last week.
