According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, published at 11:20am today, Saturday, 21 Shahrivar 1405 (September 12, 2026), Iran's free market dollar rate eased today to 234,770 tomans. Per Sahmino's own price data, the dollar rate stood at 2,352,000 rials (235,200 tomans) as of 11:29am, down 7,750 rials (0.33 percent) from the previous day; the negotiated dollar rate traded at a similar decline.
The pullback came on a day when global oil remained above $100 a barrel and Iran-US military tension around the Strait of Hormuz continued, even as President Pezeshkian said this morning that an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is set to be signed in Muscat on Monday.
