Dollar Retreats From 230,000 Toman Channel as Gold and Coin Prices Also Pull Back

Tehran's currency and gold market opened lower on the morning of Sunday, September 6, 2026 (15 Shahrivar 1405), with the dollar retreating from the 230,000 toman channel to trade around 225,000 tomans, according to Ecoiran, alongside a simultaneous pullback in coin and melted gold prices. According to Sahmino's own live price data, the free market dollar stood at 224,700 tomans (2,247,000 rials) at 3:59pm the same day, down 1.11 percent from the previous day, a figure consistent with Ecoiran's report of the retreat.
The pullback came just a day after stocks, the dollar and gold had all rallied together in Saturday, September 5 trading, when the dollar had set a same day record of 227,000 tomans.
