Iran's free-market dollar rate extended its climb on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (11 Shahrivar 1405), touching the 220,000-toman mark. Donya-e-Eqtesad reported the rate at 220,230 tomans at 14:26 Tehran time. Sahmino's own live data showed it at 220,200 tomans (up 2.9 percent on the day) as of 15:59, while tgju.org recorded the dollar above 218,000 tomans around the same window. The jump coincided with intensifying Iran-US military tension and a decline in Tehran's stock index in today's session.
