EASA warns airlines to avoid Persian Gulf airspace until July 29
19 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), in Conflict Zone Information Bulletin CZIB-2026-07 issued on July 14, 2026, advised airlines to avoid the airspace of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the Gulf of Oman (the part of the Muscat Flight Information Region west of 58 degrees east) at all altitudes until at least July 29.
The agency cited the high level of risk from attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, related military action, and repeated violations of the US-Iran ceasefire understanding.
The bulletin is binding on EASA-regulated carriers and foreign operators authorized by the agency, adding to widespread flight disruption and higher costs on alternative routes across the region.
