Iran's Emami gold coin traded around 229 million tomans in Tehran's free market on the afternoon of Monday, September 7, 2026 (16 Shahrivar 1405), a level confirmed both in Ecoiran's 15:33 report and in tgju.org's live data at 15:24 Tehran time. According to tgju.org, the coin's market premium, the gap between its price and the intrinsic value of its gold and dollar content, stood at 1,986,000 tomans as of 15:26. Global gold traded around 4,392 dollars an ounce over the same window. Ecoiran reported that today's gold and currency market was shaped by three developments: the opening of the IAEA Board of Governors session on Iran's nuclear file, a Qatari delegation's visit to Tehran for diplomatic talks, and Iran-Oman negotiations on a safe shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz nearing their final stage, factors the report said could ease the political tensions weighing on the market if they advance.
