Foreign Investors' Portfolio in Tehran Bourse and Farabourse Tops 27 Trillion Tomans, Up 49 Percent Year on Year

According to the monthly "State of the Capital Market" report from the Securities and Exchange Organization's research management, carried by Boursenews on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (27 Mordad 1405), the value of foreign investors' portfolios in the Tehran Stock Exchange and Iran Farabourse rose 49 percent year on year, from 18 trillion tomans at the end of Tir 1404 to more than 27 trillion tomans at the end of Tir 1405.
Individual foreign investors held about 24.5 trillion tomans of that total, with foreign institutions holding more than 2.5 trillion tomans. The number of foreign investors' trading codes also rose, from 5,100 at the end of last year's Tir to 5,361 this year, comprising 3,480 individual and 1,881 institutional codes.
