Tehran Free-Market Dollar Rises 4,000 Tomans to 267,200

The free-market dollar in Tehran reached 267,200 tomans on Thursday morning, 16 Mehr 1405 (8 October), according to the price site TGJU (tgju), up 4,000 tomans (about 1.5 percent) from 263,200 tomans the previous day. Today's opening rate was 265,685 tomans and the day's low so far 265,200 tomans.
On the same day last week, Saturday, 11 Mehr (3 October), the dollar traded at 267,900 tomans, so today's rate is about 0.26 percent lower. It is about 47 percent above the 181,620 tomans of 18 Tir 1405 (9 July) and about 136 percent above the 113,285 tomans of 17 Mehr 1404. The Currency Exchange Center transfer dollar stood at 177,872 tomans the same day, leaving a gap of about 50 percent to the free market.
