At the start of trading on Monday, 13 July 2026 (22 Tir 1405), the US dollar in Tehran's free market was quoted around 179,600 tomans, close to the 180,000 toman mark. The figure follows a 1,400 toman rise on Sunday, 21 Tir, lifting the dollar's weekly gain to about 2.2 percent.
According to Fararu, the free market dollar traded near 89,000 tomans a year earlier, meaning the current level is up roughly 102 percent year on year. Pressure on the currency market persists alongside the region's military tensions and instability around the Strait of Hormuz. Sahmino's own live data shows the dollar near the same level.
