Global gold and Tehran's coin market ease despite Iran-US military tension

Tehran's gold and coin market eased across the board on the morning of Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (11 Shahrivar 1405). According to Ecoiran, the global gold ounce fell to $4,296, while Tehran's gold quote dropped to 95,800,000 tomans. Each gram of 18 karat gold traded at 22,115,600 tomans and 24 karat gold at 29,484,000 tomans.

In the coin market, the new design coin traded at 221,000,000 tomans and the old design coin at 217,500,000 tomans. The half coin traded at 113,000,000 tomans, the quarter coin at 61,000,000 tomans, and the gram coin at 32,000,000 tomans.

Sahmino's own data also showed the global gold ounce at $4,304.29 at 07:46 Tehran time, down 0.57 percent on the day, consistent with the reported pullback. The decline came even as oil prices rose in the same window amid escalating military tension.
