According to EcoIran, over the Gregorian weekend (Friday, August 14, 2026, 23 Mordad 1405) global financial markets closed a volatile week. Gold, which had risen to $4,450 an ounce midweek, failed to hold above $4,400 and ended the week at $4,375. Silver, after touching $65, closed Friday at $64, still the top performer among precious metals. Brent crude traded choppily through the week, failed to clear $90, and finished at $88, a gain of more than 5 percent from the prior week.
Crypto was the week's loser by contrast. Bitcoin fell to the $62,000 range, and Cardano posted the sharpest weekly decline among major cryptocurrencies, dropping more than 10 percent.
In Iran's domestic market, the Emami gold coin traded between 189 million and 190 million tomans, and the free market dollar held steady around 187,000 tomans. On Tehran's stock exchange, net outflows from retail investors on Saturday, August 15, were estimated at over 3 trillion tomans.
