Global gold holds near $4,066 on Wednesday, struggling to advance despite continued strikes on Iran

Spot gold traded near $4,066 an ounce on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, unable to make meaningful headway even as US strikes on Iran and Strait of Hormuz tensions persisted. The level was slightly below Tuesday's price of about $4,070.
Soft US producer and consumer inflation data for June, which has trimmed the odds of a Federal Reserve rate hike at its upcoming meeting, has supported bullion, but a relatively steady dollar has capped further gains. In Iran's domestic market, where gold prices track the exchange rate, prices have meanwhile set fresh records.
